The Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) has condemned a violent EFCC raid at its premises in the early hours of Sunday, describing it as an unlawful invasion that caused panic, injuries, and chaos during a private event. OOPL alleges that over 50 armed EFCC operatives, led by “Olapade,” stormed the Green Legacy Hotel without a warrant, firing shots and threatening guests. Despite EFCC’s claim of acting on intelligence and informing the police, the library says police denied prior knowledge of the operation.
OOPL management demands a formal explanation and public apology for the violation of corporate and individual rights, warning of possible legal action if grievances are not addressed. The raid, part of an EFCC operation arresting suspected internet fraudsters, sparked widespread fear and disruption at the library.
