Aviation unions in Nigeria have paused their planned strike, originally set for August 11, giving room for further talks with the federal government. Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, praised the unions for this move, attributing the breakthrough to his strong relationship with labor leaders and expressing optimism for a lasting resolution to the sector’s long-standing issues.
Despite the suspension, unions stress that the delay is temporary, with a firm stance that their demands for better pay and conditions must be fully met. The outcome of ongoing negotiations by August 31 will shape the next steps.
