UN PAYS TRIBUTE TO LATE PRESIDENT BUHARI, REAFFIRMS PARTNERSHIP WITH KADUNA

A high-level UN delegation led by Mohammed Fall, Nigeria’s Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, visited Kaduna State Government to mourn former President Muhammadu Buhari, hailed as a transformational leader and long-time UN ally. Fall highlighted Buhari’s support for UN initiatives, including during COVID-19, and noted his son Yusuf’s work with the UN as deepening ties with the Buhari family.

The visit also reinforced the UN’s commitment to Kaduna’s development, with plans for a joint mission to fast-track the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the region. Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe thanked the UN for showing true friendship and solidarity during Nigeria’s period of mourning.
