NLO CEO PRAISES STRONG START TO LEAGUE OPENER IN NYANYA

Shola Ogunowo, CEO of Nationwide League One (NLO), has lauded teams for an exciting kickoff at Nyanya’s Hovel Prime Stadium, where G-Medix Football Academy crushed Olympic Hybrid FC 5-0. The well-organized event drew up to 2,000 fans and was broadcast live on NTA Sports, marking a proud milestone in bringing football to local communities for the first time.

Ogunowo celebrated the great turnout and thanked partners like MTN, AfrikScout, and Sofa Score for their support. Looking ahead, the NLO plans to expand participation—doubling team slots to 16 per state and targeting 1,000 clubs by 2030—to grow grassroots football and engage more youth across Nigeria. He stressed the importance of meeting registration deadlines to keep the league professional and smooth.
