Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, aka KWAM 1, has apologised for his recent clash with ValueJet personnel at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, describing the incident as regrettable and taking full responsibility. The controversy arose after KWAM 1 resisted airline staff who suspected the water flask he carried contained alcohol, leading to a viral video showing him blocking an aircraft’s takeoff.
KWAM 1 insists the flask held only water, necessary for his chronic dehydration, and that he complied with security checks before boarding. Despite a six-month no-fly ban imposed by aviation authorities and suspension of two ValueJet pilots, KWAM 1 appeals for pardon from the President, aviation officials, and the public, reaffirming his commitment as an ambassador for Nigeria.
