The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the 2025 WASSCE results for school candidates, withholding results of 192,089 students (9.75%) over exam malpractice, though this marks a slight improvement from 2024. Dr. Amos Dangut highlighted persistent issues like mobile phone use and organised cheating as major concerns.
Out of nearly 2 million candidates, 77% have fully processed results, with 87.24% achieving credits in at least five subjects. However, there’s a notable 33.8% decline in performance compared to last year. WAEC continues to investigate malpractice and urges schools and candidates to uphold exam integrity.
Candidates can check results online via http://www.waecdirect.org, with digital certificates available 48 hours after results release. Outstanding state debts are delaying some results, and affected students are urged to push for payment to access their scores.
