OSUN-OSOGBO DEVOTEES HONOUR ATAOJA WITH IBORI ADE FESTIVAL RITES
Osun-Osogbo devotees and traditionalists gathered at the palace of Ataoja Oba Jimoh Olanipekun for the sacred “Ibori Ade” ceremony, marking a key event ahead of the grand festival finale this Friday. The ritual honours the Osun goddess and past Osogbo rulers, featuring cultural displays and traditional rites to seek blessings and protection.
Oba Olanipekun urged peace and prayers for a successful festival, reminding all to avoid disturbances. The centuries-old Osun-Osogbo festival, held in the UNESCO-listed Sacred Grove, symbolizes cleansing, cultural reunion, and ancestral homage for the people of Osogbo.
