The Samuel Okwaraji Foundation has announced a new annual U-16 football competition for secondary schools, celebrating the legacy of late Super Eagles midfielder Samuel Okwaraji. The tournament aims to boost grassroots football, unite youths across Nigeria, and provide a platform for undiscovered talent to shine.

Starting at the state level and advancing to zonal and national finals, the event will also feature a memorial lecture on patriotism. While funding remains a challenge, the foundation calls on government and the private sector to support this inspiring project that honors Okwaraji’s sacrifice and uplifts Nigerian football.
