NDLEA SMASHES DRUG SYNDICATES HIDING COCAINE IN CAR PARTS AND LIPSTICKS

The NDLEA has cracked down on sophisticated drug smuggling operations across Nigeria, uncovering cocaine hidden in car side mirrors and lipsticks destined for export. At Lagos airport alone, 68 cocaine pellets and over 57,000 tramadol pills were seized from a shipment headed to Gabon, leading to arrests and further busts. Similar raids targeted couriers, warehouses, and passengers in multiple states, revealing an extensive drug trafficking network hiding substances in everyday items.

NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) praised the agency’s sharp tactics and emphasized the agency’s dual strategy of enforcement and public education through its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign. The fight continues—NDLEA urges citizens to stay alert and report suspicious activities to protect communities and national security.
