UN CONDEMNS DEADLY ADF ATTACK ON CIVILIANS IN DR CONGO
MONUSCO has condemned a brutal attack by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) on civilians in Komanda, DR Congo, where at least 49 people—including nine children—were killed, many during a church night vigil. Homes and shops were burned, and dozens were injured or abducted. This horrific violence adds to a wave of recent ADF atrocities that continue to terrorize Ituri and North Kivu provinces.
MONUSCO calls for urgent investigations and renews the demand for foreign armed groups to disarm and return home. The peacekeeping mission remains dedicated to protecting civilians, supporting affected families, and boosting security to prevent future attacks.
