Survivors Unite: Dicey Scroggins Fellowship Empowers Cancer Champions Across Nigeria
From heartbreak to hope, cancer survivors from across Nigeria are stepping up as patient advocates, thanks to Project PINK BLUE and Psychological Trust Centre’s new Dicey Scroggins Fellowship. It’s not just a training—it’s a movement!
Abuja witnessed a powerful gathering as cancer survivors from various states came together to kick off the Dicey Scroggins Patient Advocacy Fellowship. Organized by Project PINK BLUE in partnership with Psychological Trust Centre, this programme aims to equip survivors with the tools to champion cancer awareness and support within their communities.
At the news conference, survivors like Hadiza Binji and Ivey Umeh (cervical cancer) and Agu Sopunichi (breast cancer) shared their journeys and hopes for a survivor-led advocacy wave. Faridah Banwo, Health Communication Associate at Project PINK BLUE, energized the room during the training, emphasizing the vital role survivors play in bridging gaps between patients, healthcare providers, and policymakers.
This fellowship is more than education – it’s empowerment, proof that beating cancer is just the beginning of making a difference.
