STAKEHOLDERS URGE GOVTS TO BOOST AGRI-INSURANCE AND SUPPORT SMALLHOLDERS

ActionAid Nigeria and partners call on all government levels to promote agricultural insurance for smallholder farmers to tackle insecurity and climate risks threatening Nigeria’s food security.

They stress investing in early warning systems, hybrid pasture projects to ease farmer-herder tensions, and better funding for the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) to develop inclusive tech for women, youth, and PWDs. The push includes creating youth farm clusters and agri-innovation hubs to empower underrepresented groups in modern farming.
