1,000 ATHLETES ARRIVE IN ABUJA FOR 2025 AFRICAN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Over 1,000 athletes from 31 countries, including Nigeria, have landed in Abuja for the African Karate Championship set for July 21-28, ready to compete across cadet, junior, senior, and para karate categories.

KFN President Silas Agara praised the federation’s smooth logistics and preparations, while Technical Director Dave Jegede highlighted Nigeria’s strong squad of 60 athletes, many of whom are reigning African and Commonwealth medalists. The championship also features the African Karate General Assembly.
