The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) unveils a fresh regulatory framework to empower innovators, expand access, and close digital gaps across underserved communities.

Speaking at the telecoms stakeholder event in Abuja, NCC’s EVC Dr. Aminu Maida highlighted how the new General Authorisation Framework (GAF) creates a safe space for startups and big players alike to test ideas, measure risks, and innovate responsibly without red tape. Inspired by global models like UK’s Ofcom sandbox, the framework aims to accelerate Nigeria’s digital economy with collaboration from all sector players.
