NEMA LAUNCHES EARLY WARNING CAMPAIGN TO TACKLE FLOOD RISKS IN KADUNA

Ahead of the 2025 rainy season, NEMA is gearing up Kaduna State with an intense flood awareness drive to protect vulnerable communities and reduce disaster impact.

NEMA DG Zubaida Umar highlighted Kaduna North and Chikun LGAs as high-risk flood zones, with past floods causing massive damage and loss. The agency is deploying flood risk maps, community training, drainage clearing, and stockpiling relief. Working closely with Kaduna’s emergency agency and local volunteers, NEMA calls on religious leaders, media, and the public to join the fight against flooding. This campaign aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda focused on community-led disaster preparedness.
