STAKEHOLDERS URGE INEC TO BOOST DISABILITY INCLUSION IN ELECTIONS

Election experts and advocates want INEC to update its policies to make voting easier and fairer for Nigerians with disabilities—calling for more tech, better access, and greater representation.

At a meeting on the Political Inclusion Index, stakeholders stressed that INEC’s current framework is outdated and needs a refresh to meet international standards and PWDs’ evolving needs. Recommendations include disability quotas in party offices, accessible media content, and regular training for security personnel on disability rights.
