LAGOS TO REINSTATE PSYCHIATRIC TESTS FOR TRAFFIC OFFENDERS
Lagos State is bringing back psychiatric assessments for drivers caught going against traffic, aiming to curb reckless behaviour and boost road safety.
Special Adviser Sola Giwa revealed this at the Lagos Traffic Conference marking LASTMA’s 25th anniversary. The move complements efforts to improve traffic management, with LASTMA officers set for international training and expanded use of tech like surveillance cameras on key routes to reduce crashes. Officials say these measures focus on saving lives, not generating revenue.
