Engineering Titans Convene: COREN’s 33rd Assembly Sparks Innovation & Collaboration in Abuja

From the heart of Nigeria’s capital, engineering heavyweights gathered for COREN’s 33rd Engineering Assembly, blending brainpower, leadership, and fresh ideas that promise to reshape Nigeria’s technical landscape.
At the bustling 33rd Engineering Assembly of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Abuja was the epicenter of innovation and professional camaraderie. Key figures included Bashir Lawal, Chairman of COREN’s Technical Committee for Kwara State; COREN President Sadiq Zubair-Abubakar; and Vice President Olu Ogunduyile, who steered robust discussions on engineering’s future in Nigeria.
Adding star power to the event, Ogun State’s Deputy Governor Noimot Salaco-Oyedele mingled with President Zubair-Abubakar, signaling stronger government-engineering sector ties. Not to be outdone, Margaret Aina-Oguntala, President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, joined forces with COREN’s leadership, underscoring the unity driving Nigeria’s engineering community forward.
With collaboration as the main blueprint, the assembly aimed high—ensuring engineering isn’t just about structures, but building a stronger, smarter Nigeria.
