“A NATION BIDS FAREWELL: LEADERS AND LOVED ONES GATHER AS FORMER PRESIDENT BUHARI LAID TO REST”

“A Nation Bids Farewell: Leaders and Loved Ones Gather as Former President Buhari Laid to Rest”

In the quiet town of Daura, Nigeria paused today, uniting in mourning as soldiers, statesmen, and family marked the final journey of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

On a somber Tuesday in Daura, Katsina State, Nigeria’s top leaders and dignitaries joined grieving relatives and citizens to say a final goodbye to former President Muhammadu Buhari. The air was heavy with reflection as a nation came together to honour a man whose influence shaped its modern history.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tugga, and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila stood shoulder to shoulder, their expressions etched with sorrow, during the solemn burial rites. In a powerful moment of unity, President Bola Tinubu and Shettima’s predecessor, former Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, paid their respects, demonstrating the weight of the loss to Nigeria’s leadership.

The late President’s journey was dignified by members of the Nigerian Army, who carried his coffin with military honour upon its arrival at Katsina Airport. Tears mingled with pride among mourners as the casket made its way to its final resting place.

Equally poignant was the gathering of President Tinubu, his wife Oluremi, and Aisha Buhari, the widow of the late former President, standing together in a moment that captured both the public and private grief of the nation.
As tributes poured in, there was a sense of collective memory—of democracy, service, and the enduring legacy left behind.
