ECOWAS President Dr. Omar Touray, on behalf of all ECOWAS institutions, expressed deep sorrow over Buhari’s passing, hailing him as a distinguished leader whose efforts strengthened regional integration and democracy in West Africa and beyond. The message extended heartfelt condolences to President Tinubu, the Nigerian government, and the entire nation.
The Republic of Türkiye also joined in mourning, with its embassy in Abuja expressing sadness and offering prayers for Buhari’s soul, recognising his impact on Nigeria and Africa.
