UNAIDS: THE WORLD CAN STILL END AIDS BY 2030—BUT FUNDING IS CRITICAL

Ending AIDS by 2030 is within reach—if the world acts fast, united, and with enough resources.

Winnie Byanyima, UNAIDS Executive Director, says despite setbacks and funding shortfalls, there’s still hope to transform the HIV crisis into a success story. Seven sub-Saharan countries have hit the 95-95-95 targets, but global progress is threatened by a funding “ticking time bomb.”

With 9.2 million people still lacking treatment and recent donor cuts risking millions of new infections and deaths, Byanyima urges urgent action and increased domestic and international funding to protect hard-won gains.
