It took grit and a late breakthrough, but Nigeria’s Super Falcons squeezed past Botswana’s Mares 1–0 to keep their WAFCON dreams alive!
The nine-time champions faced fierce resistance at Stade Larbi Zaouli, with Botswana’s keeper Bosija putting on a show. Missed chances and a packed Botswana defense kept fans on edge, but in the 89th minute, Okoronkwo set up Chinwendu Ihezuo for the match-winner.
