Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf kicks off the 4th tranche of pension payments, releasing N6 billion to thousands of retirees—promising to clear all outstanding benefits soon.
At the Government House, Yusuf handed over a dummy cheque of N4.5 billion to the Pension Board chairman, covering retirees from 2020 to 2023. This latest payment brings total disbursed funds to N22 billion, with another N5 billion set aside for August. The governor reaffirmed his commitment to easing retirees’ hardships and warned against corruption in pension management.
Pensioners and traditional leaders praised Yusuf’s efforts, calling him a “Star Performance Governor” for prioritizing retirees’ welfare.
