NEW LEGAL EAGLES TAKE FLIGHT: 5,725 LAWYERS SWORN IN ABUJA

The legal world just got a major boost as 5,725 fresh lawyers officially joined the Nigerian Bar, ready to shake up courtrooms across the nation!
On Thursday, July 10, 2025, Abuja was buzzing with excitement as the Body of Benchers called to bar an impressive cohort of 5,725 new lawyers. The ceremony was graced by legal heavyweights including the Leader of Senate, Sen. Opeyemi Bamidele; Chief Adegboyega Awomolo, Chairman of the Body of Benchers; and Chief Wole Olanipekun, former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
The event also featured notable figures such as NBA General Secretary Mr. Adesina Adegbite and Senior Advocate of Nigeria Chief Adeniyi Akintola, all gathered to welcome the newest members of Nigeria’s legal fraternity.
The Body of Benchers, the ultimate authority in calling lawyers to the bar, proudly oversaw the historic ceremony, marking a significant milestone for the Nigerian legal system.
With thousands of new advocates ready to uphold justice, the future looks bright—and busy—for Nigeria’s courts!
