Jigawa is taking flood threats seriously—earmarking over N4 billion to protect communities and boost emergency readiness this rainy season.

Dr. Abdullahi Sa’id, Chairman of Local Emergency Management Committees, revealed the fund during a town hall in Ringim. The money supports 21 flood-prone LGAs with prevention efforts, public awareness, and desilting to improve water flow. Local councils also chipped in, showing strong community commitment.

JISEPA and SEMA are leading flood preparedness campaigns, urging residents to avoid waste dumping and support government efforts. The Emir of Ringim praised the proactive approach, emphasizing early action to save lives and property.
