KWASU FIRES BACK: “WE’RE NOT SILENT ON MALETE INSECURITY!”
No cover-ups here—KWASU says it’s all hands on deck to protect students, calling out claims of inaction as pure mischief.
Kwara State University (KWASU) has firmly rejected social media chatter accusing the school and state government of ignoring recent off-campus security scares. Acting Director Dr. Saeedat Aliyu insists the narrative is misleading, highlighting that arrests have been made and more suspects are being pursued.
What’s KWASU Doing?
Security Collaboration: Joint efforts with the state government, local authorities, and security agencies.
New Security Committee: Includes university staff, students, local vigilantes, and security agents to keep hostels and the community safer.
Movement Restrictions: A bylaw in the works to limit movement during certain hours for extra security.
Boosted Patrols: More police and NSCDC personnel on the ground, plus new gadgets for vigilantes.
Dr. Aliyu praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s leadership and called claims of “deafening silence” a disservice to everyone working hard for student safety. The university urges the public to ignore what it calls “mischief” and insists quoting old events as proof of inaction is just plain misleading.
