UNN STUDENT ARRESTED FOR MURDER OF FEMALE PEER IN NSUKKA HOTEL

A deadly dispute over money turns tragic—UNN student Emmanuel Gambo nabbed for strangling fellow student Deborah Ememem after a hotel quarrel.

Enugu police arrested the 22-year-old engineering student following a grisly June 15 murder in a Nsukka hotel. After a fight over an extra ₦15,000 payment, Emmanuel allegedly strangled Deborah, hid her body under the bed, and tried to cover his tracks with fake details. Police recovered the victim’s belongings and secured a confession.

The police commissioner praised detectives and urged parents to watch over their kids, warning against negative peer pressure and social vices.
