NANTMP CRACKS DOWN ON QUACKERY IN THE NORTH-EAST

No more shortcuts—NANTMP is raising the bar for traditional medicine in the North-East, making sure only the real professionals serve the public.

The National Association of Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP) is taking bold steps to stamp out quackery and boost professionalism. At their recent National Working Committee meeting in Gombe, the association announced that all certificates and ID cards not issued by the national secretariat are now invalid. This move aims to protect public health and ensure only qualified practitioners operate in the region.

All previous certifications and IDs from unauthorised sources are now void.

Only the national secretariat can issue valid documents going forward.

Practitioners are urged to enroll in official certification courses at the College of Traditional Medicine and Acupuncture in Damaturu, Yobe State.

The association praised Gov. Inuwa Yahaya for revitalising the Herbal Reservation Farm in Gombe, calling it a major step for preserving herbal resources and supporting public health.

Why it matters:
These measures are designed to safeguard the profession, unify standards, and ensure Nigerians get safe, authentic traditional medical care.
