U.S.-AFRICA BUSINESS SUMMIT GENERATES OVER $2.5 BILLION IN DEALS
The 17th U.S.-Africa Business Summit, held in Luanda, Angola, brought together over 2,700 leaders, including 12 African heads of state, and resulted in more than $2.5 billion in new trade and investment deals. The summit marked a shift from aid to investment-led growth, emphasizing partnerships and mutual prosperity.
Key deals include a $170 million digital infrastructure project in Angola, a U.S.-backed LNG terminal in Sierra Leone, a $760 million hydropower project spanning Rwanda and the DRC, and over $200 million in Ethiopian tourism investments. Energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and technology sectors featured prominently, highlighting a broad commitment to boosting Africa’s development through private sector engagement.
