SRI LANKAN NAVY ARRESTS 7 INDIAN FISHERMEN FOR POACHING
The Sri Lankan navy detained seven Indian fishermen poaching near Talaimannar in the Northern province on Monday night, marking the second arrest in two days. Earlier, eight Indian fishermen and a boat were seized off Mannar.
The navy handed over the suspects and vessel to fisheries officials and stressed ongoing patrols to protect local fishermen’s livelihoods from illegal foreign fishing.
