NIGERIAN ARMY DAY 2025: BRIG.-GEN. OBOLO BOOSTS YENAGOA SCHOOLS WITH BOOKS AND INSPIRATION

When the army marches into classrooms, it’s not just about drills—it’s about dreams. Brigadier-General Oluremi Obolo swapped his uniform for a storyteller’s hat, inspiring students and handing over educational materials to fuel young minds in Yenagoa.
In a lively celebration marking the 2025 Nigerian Army Day, Brigadier-General Oluremi Obolo, Commander of the 16 Brigade Nigerian Army Sector 2 Joint Task Force South South, Operation Delta Safe, visited Government Secondary Schools in Yenagoa on Tuesday, July 1st. The event was more than just a formal salute—it was a public speaking engagement aimed at motivating students and strengthening community ties.
At Government Secondary School, Onuopa, Principal Mrs. Igurubia Biobele warmly received educational materials from Brig.-Gen. Obolo, who engaged students with inspiring words about discipline, patriotism, and the power of education. The same spirit carried over to Government Secondary School, Ovom, where Principal Mrs. Thomas Tanize accepted additional learning resources, accompanied by Brig.-Gen. Obolo’s encouraging address.
This initiative highlights the Nigerian Army’s commitment to supporting education and uplifting communities beyond their traditional security role. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the strongest weapon is knowledge.
