EBONYI GOV REWARDS ABAKALIKI FC PLAYERS AFTER FEDERATION CUP RUN
Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi has rewarded 34 Abakaliki FC players with N1 million each after their impressive run to the 2025 President Federation Cup final, where they narrowly lost on penalties to Kwara United. The young club stunned big teams like Enyimba and Nasarawa United on their way to the final.
The governor also awarded the head coach N1 million, 16 officials N500,000 each, and gave N4 million to the supporters’ club. He praised the team’s passion and promised to support their return to the Nigeria National League after their recent relegation.
Captain Cyril Timothy thanked the governor and vowed improved performance next season.
