ACCI LAUNCHES INITIATIVE TO BOOST GENDER EQUALITY IN NIGERIA’S BUSINESS SECTOR
The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), backed by the Investment Climate Reform Facility and international partners, is driving reforms to support women-owned businesses (WoBs) in Nigeria. ACCI Director-General Agabaidu Jideani revealed a two-phase plan to create a national definition for WoBs and improve their access to government support.
The initiative has already formed a joint action committee with government agencies and gained political backing from federal ministers committed to adopting the reforms. Over 60 stakeholders gathered to push for inclusive policies that recognize and empower women entrepreneurs.
Jideani urges all levels of government and partners to join in making gender equality a reality in Nigeria’s business landscape.
