SENATOR NATASHA AKPOTI-UDUAGHAN ARRAIGNED OVER CYBERBULLYING, DEFAMATION CHARGES

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Arraigned Over Cyberbullying, Defamation Charges
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan appeared in Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday to face six-count charges of cyberbullying and defamation against Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello. She pleaded not guilty to all counts.

The charges stem from allegations that she accused Akpabio and Bello of plotting to have her killed in Kogi. The case, filed by the Attorney-General, cites violations of the Cybercrimes Act.

Accompanied by her husband and supporters, Akpoti-Uduaghan was granted bail on self-recognition. The trial was adjourned to September 22, 2025. The court previously rejected a government request for her arrest, noting she was only served the charges on the arraignment day.
