Pakistan-Nigeria Art Exhibition “New Gate” Celebrates Cultural Unity
Pakistani High Commissioner to Nigeria, Retired Maj.-Gen. Sohail Khan, hailed art’s power to bridge cultures and promote peace at the inaugural “New Gate” art exhibition held at the Pakistan High Commission in Abuja. The event, themed “Unlocking Creative Frontiers to Build an Enduring Bond,” showcased works by Pakistani curator Anila Adnan and Nigerian artists, highlighting the shared spirit of both nations.
Khan described the exhibition as a vibrant celebration of resilience, diversity, and unity, urging attendees to embrace this artistic dialogue. Nigerian culture icon Chief Nike Davies-Okundaye praised the event’s fusion of cultural excellence, while the Wazobia Dance troops energized the evening with traditional folk performances.
The exhibition, supported by the Pakistani community and Art Addiction Gallery, runs until July 2 and draws diplomats, art lovers, and community members alike.
