Nigerian Navy Cracks Down on Militants, Hands Over Suspect with Illegal Weapon to DSS
The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) SOROH, under Central Naval Command, arrested a suspect, Daniel Damigo, during a raid on a militant camp in Peremabiri, Bayelsa, recovering an HK General Purpose Machine Gun and ammunition. The suspect was handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS) for further investigation.

Commander Commodore Omobamidele Akinbami praised the operation’s precision and collaboration with Labrador Security Services, warning militants and sea robbers that Bayelsa will no longer be a safe haven. He also reported the arrest of two suspected cultists and a recent gunfire exchange with sea robbers who fled after abandoning their boat.

The Navy urges citizens to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities to help secure the nation’s maritime zones.
