Nigerian Army Neutralizes Terrorist Kingpin, Makes Major Arms Seizures Nationwide
Troops of 1 Brigade Nigerian Army have neutralized notorious terrorist Mai Dada during a counterattack in Zamfara’s Maru LGA, arresting several suspects in the operation from June 25-26. In Kaduna, 2 Battalion recovered an AK-47 after clashing with armed men.
Across the country, the army seized over 1,000 arms and ammunition, including large caches in Borno’s Gwoza and Bama LGAs, where terrorists’ supplies and hideouts were destroyed. Troops also intercepted logistics suspected for terrorist use in Monguno, arresting a suspect and confiscating fuel, food, fertilizers, and solar equipment.
Operations in Plateau, Benue, Bayelsa, and Edo states led to arrests and recovery of weapons, showcasing the army’s ongoing commitment to dismantling criminal networks and securing Nigeria.
