Senator Ned Nwoko has pledged N200 million to launch a major talent hunt for young Nigerian artists, aiming to nurture the next wave of Nollywood stars. Announcing the initiative at the Actors Guild Office opening in Abuja, Nwoko urged the industry to invest in quality TV series that can stand the test of time, just like iconic shows in the UK and US.

Nwoko, who chairs the AGN Board of Patrons, also revealed plans to sponsor a bill giving the Actors Guild professional status, putting it on par with top industry bodies. He called for both institutional and personal support to help Nollywood reach new heights globally.
