Iran’s Cleric Issues Indirect Death Threat to Trump Over Khamenei Comments
An influential Iranian cleric has issued an indirect death threat against former U.S. President Donald Trump after Trump called Iranian leader Ali Khamenei “an easy target.” Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi declared that threats against Khamenei or other religious leaders are considered a grave sin in Islam, punishable by death.
Though he didn’t mention Trump by name, the cleric said those who threaten Islamic leaders are “enemies of God” and must be held accountable by Muslims, promising divine blessing for those who act against such “enemies.”
