Gov. Mbah: Sports Builds Unity and Empowers Youth in Enugu
Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu says sports is a powerful tool for unity, youth development, and social cohesion. Speaking at the Olympic Day celebration in Enugu, he highlighted how Olympic values of excellence and respect mirror the state’s principles and inspire its people.
Represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mbah stressed Enugu’s commitment to nurturing grassroots talent, investing in sports infrastructure, and supporting athletes to excel nationally and internationally.
Nigerian Olympic Committee President Habu Gumel added that sports strengthens mind and body, promotes health, and fosters unity. The event featured cycling, volleyball, and armchair wrestling, showcasing solidarity and community spirit.
