BAUCHI BOOSTS GIRL’S EDUCATION WITH CASH TRANSFERS UNDER AGILE PROJECT

Bauchi Boosts Girls’ Education with Cash Transfers Under AGILE Project
Bauchi State is stepping up efforts to promote girls’ education through the Conditional Cash Transfers (CCT) program of the AGILE project, supported by the World Bank. The initiative provides financial aid to girls in junior and senior secondary schools who maintain at least 80% attendance and show academic progress.

Junior students receive N5,000 per term, while seniors get N10,000. The state government has committed N150 million to complement the World Bank’s $80 million loan, also funding ICT facilities and digital skills training for 5,000 senior students.

AGILE aims to tackle financial, social, and cultural barriers, reducing dropout rates and empowering girls for a brighter future.
