ABUJA’S KUGBO AND MABUSHI BUS TERMINALS READY TO HANDLE 10,000 PASSENGERS DAILY

Abuja’s Kugbo and Mabushi Bus Terminals Ready to Handle 10,000 Passengers Daily
Mr. Biodun Otunola, MD of Planet Project Ltd, revealed that the newly inaugurated Kugbo and Mabushi bus and taxi terminals in Abuja can each process over 10,000 passengers daily and accommodate 120 buses and taxis. The terminals serve both intercity and intracity travel, while a third terminal under construction in the CBD focuses on intracity operations.

Otunola likened the terminals to “mini airports,” boasting modern facilities like air conditioning, escalators, lifts, cinemas, eateries, and secure ticketing areas. Each terminal will employ at least 100 staff across security, ticketing, maintenance, and control departments.

He praised President Tinubu and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for trusting local contractors and handing terminal management to the private sector to ensure quality service. Otunola also noted that Abuja needs at least 12 such terminals to cover key areas like Gwagwalada, Kuje, and Gwarinpa.

Tinubu, represented by Senate President Akpabio, said the terminals will boost trade, safety, and commuter comfort. Wike added that the terminals will end roadside waiting and reduce “one chance” crimes by ensuring registered drivers and vehicles.
