Veteran Actor Francis Duru Joins NANTAP FCT Advisory Council Ahead of Abuja Arts Summit
Nollywood veteran Francis Duru has been appointed to the Advisory Council of the Federal Capital Territory chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP). The announcement was made by chapter chairman Jerry Adesewo during the association’s congress in Abuja.
The council, comprising respected industry veterans, will guide and mentor the current leadership, ensuring continuity and growth. Members include Kayode Aiyegbusi, Esther Onwuka, and others.
NANTAP also revealed plans for the inaugural Abuja Performing Arts Summit (APAS) this September, themed “Charting New Paths: Strengthening the Performing Arts Ecosystem in the FCT.” The summit aims to unite theatre practitioners, dancers, educators, and creative entrepreneurs to boost the capital’s arts scene.
A seven-member planning committee, co-chaired by actor-director Patrick Otoro, is already hard at work organizing the event.
