IPMAN Blames Fuel Price Hike on Market Deregulation Amid Public Outcry
Chinedu Ukadike, PRO of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), says the recent jump in petrol prices reflects market deregulation, where prices fluctuate based on crude oil costs, exchange rates, and operational expenses.
Following a N50 increase at NNPC outlets and up to N60 hikes by independent marketers, consumers like businesswoman Adana Chris and taxi driver Aminu Ibrahim express frustration over rising living costs and shrinking incomes. Both urge government action to ease the fuel crisis.
