Nigerian Foreign Minister Sets the Record Straight: Nigerians Not Abandoned in Iran
Amid swirling social media rumors, Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, has firmly denied claims that Nigerians have been abandoned in Iran. The Nigerian Embassy in Tehran is very much operational, though staff are working remotely due to ongoing security concerns and bombings.
The embassy is actively coordinating with Armenia to help evacuate Nigerians through Yerevan. Nigerians in Iran are urged to reach out via emergency contacts and stay connected through community coordinators and the local messaging app Eitaa for real-time updates.
Minister Tuggar reassures everyone that the ministry is fully committed to protecting Nigerians abroad.
