Nigerian Navy Destroys Illegal Oil Refining Dump Site in Delta
The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Delta has taken a big step in the fight against illegal oil refining by destroying a dump site in Obotebe Community, Burutu LGA. Commander Commodore Abdulazeez Zubairu shared that Navy personnel uncovered the site on June 19 during Operation Delta Sanity 11, led under directives from the Chief of Naval Staff.
The team, equipped with gunboats and speedboats, swiftly destroyed the illegal refining site and recovered equipment including a Yamaha engine, power generator, six pumps, and hoses.
This move continues the Navy’s commitment to tackling crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism, and illegal refining in the region.
