Enugu Governor Grants Pardon to 11 Inmates to Ease Prison Congestion
Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu has pardoned 11 inmates as part of efforts to decongest correctional facilities and give them a fresh start. The beneficiaries, including Ugochukwu Oma and Onah Nnamdi, were handed over to the state Attorney-General following recommendations from the Correctional Services and the Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy.
This move, under the governor’s constitutional prerogative, recognizes the inmates’ proven reform and readiness to reintegrate into society with productive skills.
