DRUG BUST BONANZA

DRUG BUST BONANZA: NDLEA TAKES DOWN COCAINE QUEEN & CRACKS WIDE-REACHING DRUG RINGS ACROSS NIGERIA

From a makeup artist with a suitcase full of secrets to multi-state drug busts that read like a thriller—Nigeria’s NDLEA just flipped the script on drug traffickers nationwide!
At Lagos Airport, NDLEA caught 43-year-old makeup artist Adekoya Adebukonla Mary red-handed with 2.2kg of cocaine cleverly hidden in her suitcase, bound for India. She claimed a fibroid surgery trip but spilled the beans: she was a pawn in a drug lord’s game. The mastermind? Akeem Ayinde Adekanbi, still on the run, running a hotel in Ogun and hiding in Lagos.
But that was just the opening act. Across Nigeria, NDLEA hit hard:

  • Lagos: Sewn dresses stuffed with 1.3kg of potent cannabis shipped to Bahrain; cocaine disguised in clothes hangers headed for Australia.
  • Bauchi: Two men nabbed with over a million opioid pills.
  • Kaduna: 14.2kg cannabis stashed in charcoal sacks.
  • Abuja: Six arrested with cannabis and methamphetamine.
  • Kano: Multiple arrests with cannabis and thousands of tramadol capsules.
  • Kwara: A polytechnic student caught selling skunk weed.
  • Edo: Massive 4,226kg cannabis destruction and multiple arrests including a supermarket raid.
The NDLEA isn’t just busting dealers—they’re also hitting schools and communities with their War Against Drug Abuse campaign, rallying support from traditional rulers like the Ooni of Ife.
NDLEA Chair, Brig-Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa, applauds the nationwide crackdown: “We’re matching supply cuts with demand control—education is our secret weapon.”
