DEPOWA Honors Widows with Empowerment and Support on International Widows’ Day
The Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA) celebrated International Widows’ Day 2025 with 255 widows at Jaji Cantonment, Kaduna, recognizing their strength and resilience. DEPOWA President Mrs. Oghogho Musa called these women “quiet warriors” who face widowhood with courage and dignity.
To empower them, DEPOWA is offering farming and fashion training in Abuja, cash support for small businesses, and mentorship to boost confidence and growth. Medical support was also provided, alongside talks on financial planning and emotional well-being.
Musa’s message was clear: “Widows, you are not alone or forgotten. With support and the right mindset, you can overcome challenges and build a brighter future.”
